There are various NTFS File recovery options in Windows 7 that can recover system from any kind of serious error. These tools can be located on the computer’s hard disk and Windows installation disc. All the recovery options are available on the Advanced Boot Options screen of Windows 7. A user can select any tool to repair the system as per his requirement.

Notes:

A user can also devise a system repair disc that includes the System Recovery Options menu.
A Tablet PC or other computer would have to connect a keyboard and mouse for using the startup repair or other system recovery options.

Startup Repair Option

This system recovery option fixes certain problems like missing or damaged system files. It rectifies the problem and starts the Windows correctly.

System Restore

The System Restore option restores the computer’s system files to a specific period of time without affecting the files i.e. emails, documents, or photos. If a user refers the System Restore option from the System Recovery Options menu then he won’t be able to undo the restore operation.

System Image Recovery

Before using the System Image Recovery option a user should have created a system image. The system image is nothing but a personalized backup of the partition that includes user data, like documents, pictures, and music.

Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool

The Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool option thoroughly scans the computer for rectifying the errors. If Windows 7 concludes a problem with the computer’s memory then it prompts to run the Memory Tool.

Command Prompt

The Advanced Windows 7 user can refer the command prompt option for executing the recovery-related operations. This tool also runs other command line tools for diagnosing and troubleshooting problems.

Another tool for NTFS file recovery is NTFS data recovery software. It can recover the partition from Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows 95, and DOS.

The File Allocation Table (FAT) and New Technology File System (NTFS) are the Windows based storage partitions which help a user in storing the data. The First FAT version was developed by Bill Gates which is presently having three different versions FAT12, FAT16, and FAT32. Afterwards, came the NTFS New Technology File System which is a more advanced partition system. A user can lose the NTFS data because of many reasons. Some of the errors which appear on the screen are operating system error, missing operating system, bad sector in the disk, partition table corruption, Windows installed hard drive, accidental file deletion, etc. A Windows Vista user can refer the Bootrec.exe tool for FAT or NTFS file recovery.

For using the Bootrec.exe tool a user would have to start the Windows RE program and enter the disc key first. Then enter the language, time, place and currency details when the system asks. Type Bootrec.exe command for opening the tool. Now use the following commands to open the tool.

/FixMbr
This command writes a compatible MBR on the partition. Rectify the MBR corruption for removing the non standard code before using /FixMbr.
/FixBoot
This command can rectify the Boot sector issues occurring because of non compatibility.
/ScanOs
This command conducts rigorous scans and eliminates the compatibility issues.
/RebuildBcd
This command helps a user in rebuilding the BCD from scratch. It checks the compatibility of various installations for repairing the partitions.

Using Bootrex.exe tool requires a lot of technical expertise and knowledge. This tool doesn’t assure the accurate NTFS File Recovery. It also consumes a lot of time while conducting scans. The most easy and effective way for NTFS File Recovery is FAT and NTFS file recovery tool. It is a crackerjack solution for FAT 16, FAT 32, NTFS, and NTFS5 corruptions. A user can even reacquire the data from IDE, EIDE, SCSI, SATA, PEN, ZIP and USB drives bu using this tool.

The NTFS Recovery tool executes recovery in three modes Quick, Extensive and File Trace. It is highly compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, 2000, 98, 95 and DOS operating systems.

While removing the dynamic volumes, the Disk Management mechanism removes the boot sector 90 sector) and also the volume entries. By using the Disk Management snap-in tool a user can recover such manually deleted partitions – NTFS or FAT32. One thing to remember while using this tool is that it only restores those volumes which have not been overwritten.

Note: The Disk Management snap-in tool cannot restore the FAT 16 partition as it is different from the NTFS and FAT32 partitions. Even the RAID-5 and dynamic mirrored volume cannot be retrieved with this method.

Steps to restore the deleted NTFS partition with Disk Management Snap in:

The Disk Management snap-in tool is a Microsoft based management console tool for the partitions. It helps in managing the system disks (local and remote) in a better way.
It very soon replaced the traditional command prompt available in the earlier versions. It provides a graphical presentation for showing the interrelationships of the disks.
Firstly, without reformatting, the user would have to redesign the exact volumes. It is a very lengthy and complex process where the user would have to give the exact details of the previous volumes.
Secondly, Run the Dskprobe.exe tool for restoring the backup sector (in NTFS volume) from the partitions. After that, use the Dmdiag.exe tool for searching the backup from the partitions. For running the Dskprobe.exe tool go to Tools then Search Sectors and click Dskprobe.exe tool.
Thirdly, Close the Dskprobe command after redesigning the NTFS.
Fourthly, mount the volumes with the Disk Management command by clicking on the
Rescan Disks option in Action menu.

Restore the FAT32 partition

Firstly, without reformatting, the user would have to redesign the exact volumes. It is a very lengthy and complex process where the user would have to give the exact details of the previous volumes.
Secondly, Recover the FAT32 volumes with Dskprobe.exe tool.
Thirdly, Close the Dskprobe.exe tool after rewriting the partition.
Fourthly, mount the volumes with the Disk Management command by clicking on the Rescan Disks option in Action menu.

The steps to rewrite and restructure the volumes are not easy to perform. It is very difficult to provide the details of previous volumes specifically during the rounding up process. For quickly restoring the portions a user can try NTFS Recovery Software.

NTFS (New Technology File System) is the preferred type as it more stable and secure. However, even this sophisticated system succumbs to corruption due to some reasons. They can be avoided but the threat persists. On account of possible corruption issues and sudden loss of important data, there are ways to tackle these circumstances. Be confident and assured about all your files and assets with NTFS file recovery software.

Windows Recovery software successfully retrieves data from corrupt, damaged, formatted, deleted or inaccessible NTFS file system based Windows partitions. Data stored in hard disk can be damaged or lost due to accidental deletion, formatting of a hard drive partition, presence of bad sectors in the disk, loss of Master Boot Record (MBT), attack of viruses, power failure, unexpected system shutdown, etc. Any such unpleasant incident leads to the same outcome, loss of data stored in the hard disk partitions.

NTFS file recovery software is efficient in retrieving all the damaged or lost data. It can recover data from formatted as well as re-formatted Windows NTFS partitions. It supports all the versions, mainly NTFS, and NTFS5 file systems. The potent algorithmic scanning allows access over damaged documents, videos, photos, music files, email items and other such files. Courtesy with this amazing tool you can even get back deleted files what was even emptied from the Recycle Bin or by using shift + delete keys. So, you have a chance to recover something which you accidently or deliberately deleted assuming it useless but have been looking for that later.

The next possible doubt may be how to use the recovery tool. But it’s an easy and guided process. Just select the hard drive for NTFS partition recovery and then choose the hard disk partition that is to be recovered. Automatic scanning starts and recoverable data are listed, which can be saved at desired locations. Many tools come with various scanning modes and search file options for additional benefits.

NTFS file recovery software – Windows Disk Recovery

It supports file-level security, compression and auditing. Apart from that, it also provides the complete support to large volumes and powerful storage solution such as RAID.

The most striking feature of NTFS is its ability to encrypt files and folders and provide security to sensitive data. Apart from that it has got improved support for larger hard disks. But, there are situations when these NTFS file system gets damaged or corrupted. And, the reasons could vary from virus attack, formatting of a hard drive partition, presence of bad sectors in the disk to sudden shut down of system. However, you don’t have to get tensed about facing NTFS file system corruption anymore! Why? Because, today there is an option in form third party NTFS Recovery software.

What do you do when you realize that you have accidentally deleted a partition? How would you bring back the data you unintentionally deleted? There are times when we accidentally or intentionally delete data and later realize that the data was of use. Don’t feel helpless at such times because you can still recover data from your NTFS partition.

In case, you deleted your NTFS partition using the Disk Management snap-in then there are still chances of you recovering the your NTFS partition and the data that was saved in it. However, NTFS partition recovery is possible only if you have not formatted or created a new volume after partition deletion. The recovery is possible in this case because, when you delete a partition from dynamic disk using Disk Management, then it deletes the file system boot sector and removes the partition entry from its database. This is how the deleted volume and the data saved in it remain preserved. Since NTFS partitions save backup boot sectors, we can perform NTFS partition recovery easily:

1.Create a new volume of the same size as of the deleted partition. Remembering the exact size of the deleted partition can be an issue due to the size and use of Disk Management snap-in
Note- Make sure you don’t format the partition

2.Use some disk editing tool to retrieve backup boot sector for your deleted NTFS partition (please note that NTFS keeps a back up boot sector).

3.Rewrite the NTFS boot sector using disk editing tool

4.Now you will need to mount the NTFS parititon. For make the volume working again go to Disk Management > Action menu and click Rescan Disks

This must help you in retrieving the accidentally deleted partition. However, if you are suffering from the problem of data loss due to formatting or re-partition issues or if the method given above does not work then you will need to use a ntfs recovery tool to recover the data.

Using New Technology File System (NTFS) as the prime file system helps you to effectively store and manage data on computer’s hard disk, PEN drive, and other storage devices. The NTFS file system is less vulnerable to damage but not completely away from damage. There are thousands of the files stored on your computer that you always like to arrange in systematic order.

Have you ever thought that how you arrange files on computer in a well organized manner? If not, then you should know that because of NTFS file system, you can systematically store and manage files on your computer.

In case, the NTFS file system gets corrupt, you may fail to access all your important files and folders. Here, you might raise a question that why NTFS file system will get corrupt if you do not abruptly use your computer. Just have a look at these reasons and understanding how and when you NTFS file system may get corrupt or damaged will be easier:

Abrupt system shut down. You may never abruptly shut down your computer but due to power outage it may happen and raise the requirement of Windows NTFS data recovery.

Virus contamination.

Registry corruptions.

MBR damage.

Aforementioned are some basic reasons for the corruption of NTFS file system. Damage or corruption of the NTFS file system means corruption of the NTFS.sys file that bring the computer in unbootable state. When NTFS.sys file is damaged, following error message appears on computer screen when you start it:

“Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: System32\Drivers\Ntfs.sys”

Whatever is the reason behind the damage of NTFS file system, you are the only sufferer. Nobody likes to lose important data but situations like corruption of the NTFS file system make you helpless.

Let us now talk something about the possible solution for such situation and i.e. Windows NTFS data recovery.
The best way to recover the lost files and folders is to perform Windows NTFS data recovery; it is the process of repairing the damaged NTFS file system and recovering the lost data from it. For retrieving all available data from NTFS partitions, using Windows NTFS data recovery tools is the only prudent approach.
Such tools help you to recover lost files and folders. Using these technically advanced tools, you can also recover files and folders that have permanently deleted long ago.
